1. The so called "Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009" WILL NOT WORK. Congress and President Obama have ignored the lessons of history that we can't SPEND our way out of a recession. In addition, it has some wonderful surprises included in it!
2. Our right to privacy will be eroded little by little. The R & R Act will force doctors to submit our personal medical records to a Federal depository. We don't have a choice whether we want our medical records in this system. Isn't it comforting to know that our private medical records will be in the hands of bureaucrats. This was snuck into the R & R Act!
3. We won't be able to mention GOD in any place other than our churches. The R & R Act has a provision that any school, university, public agency, etc. cannot allow anyone to do or say anything that is religious in any way if that entity accepts any federal money. A religious group can't use a public building to meet, a public prayer can't be said, and the implications are frightening. That was snuck into the R & R Act! (This is going to create a lot of jobs, isn't it?)
4. We're all going to be working to support the illegal immigrants! Illegal immigrants will be given amnesty, will be put first in line for citizenship - before those people who came to this country legally, will not have to pay any back taxes, will be given benefits that us working folks can't get. That was snuck into the R & R Act!
5. The government will decide if you can own a gun. There will be new federal requirements for purchasing any weapon and, even if you don't have any criminal record, some bureaucrat can say that you can't own a gun! Also, the federal government knows who has guns, except for the criminals who have guns, of course! That's in the R & R Act.
6. The federal government will control our banking system. They have bailed out numerous financial institutions so they are now calling the shots! The implications of this are staggering! How would you like to have Uncle Sam looking over your shoulder when you deposit your paycheck! That's already happening with the TARP bills and will only get worse.
Side note: It is interesting to watch our congress ream the CEO's of our largest industries for their sins. These federal bureaucrats are the same people who had control of and bankrupted Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They should be reamed out for their mismanagement, not accusing the people in the private sector who are providing millions of jobs. They belittled them for having private planes! Nancy Pelosi has a private jet that she uses, at taxpayers' expense, to fly back and forth to California! Each trip costs the taxpayers $60,000! What hypocrites!
7. The government will start telling private business what it can pay its employees and even how to run their businesses. The Feds are now telling companies what to pay their top executives and what they can and can't spend money on. Granted there have been abuses of executive compensation, but this is setting a precedent that will only handcuff the business owner.
8. Labor unions will get a better foothold in our economy and will extend their tentacles into any business that they can. The labor unions funded President Obama's campaign in a big way. Didn't you wonder where he got the $6 million that he spent? Well, now it's payback time! Congress is pushing through a bill that will do away with "secret ballot" in deciding whether a company has to go union or not. This bill has other pernacious provisions that requires many federal jobs to be bid only by companies who hire union workers! (Does this sound like Chicago politics?) This strengthens the unions and weakens private business, not to mention how unfair it is. Also, we all know how honest and ethical the union leaders have been in the past, don't we?
9. We will have national health care! Yes folks, we can join the ranks of the truly blessed Canadians and English and have our government control our health care. The citizenry of these and other countries with national health care are all wanting to come to the US to get the health care that they need and want! The R & R bill sneaks in some national health care provisions for "children". It's just that the "children" can be up to 30 years old! Do they have to be living at home, too? The federal government will have involvement with patients' medical treatments and will tell doctors what medical treatment, tests, etc. that we can have! The Demos couldn't get national health care passed, so they are sneaking it in other bills in bits and pieces!
10. Our US congressional districts will be redrawn to the Democratic party's benefit. There will be a national census in 2010. The White House just removed the US Census Bureau from the jurisdiction of the Commerce Dept. and transferred it to the White House. In Obama's first month in office, isn't it strange that he would make a move as drastic as this? And why would he do this? Does the White House staff not have enough to do? The political implications of this move are enormous. The Census should be non political. We can look forward to being redistricted "Chicago style"! The census results are also used to determine funding for schools, federal programs, etc. Who will be in control of the results of this census? The Obama administration most likely. That's why the census is supposed to be "non political".
Well, mercy me, I could go on and on! The bottom line is that (1) this huge government spending bill is going to cause the economy to take much longer to recover than it would otherwise. Our economic slowdown is going to go deeper, our dollar will be devalued, and our country will be in crippling debt. (2) This bill is a blatant grab of government power in ways that the American public is not even aware! These non job creating issues should have been presented in Congress in separate bills and the public should have had the right to read and decide on whether we want these measures approved by Congress!
Rahm Emanuel, Obama's White House Chief of Staff, once said that it would be a "shame to waste a good crisis". He meant that it's a good strategy to use the public's concern and attention to a particular crisis to slip other issues under the radar of the public! That's what they're doing. They have been shouting "Crisis, Crisis, Crisis!" and making FEAR their mantra. They want us to be so overwhelmed with the "crisis" that we are vulnerable to their manipulations. Just ask David Axelrod, Obama's senior advisor, if that isn't the strategy adopted by the Obama administration. He's a master manipulator.
My MAIN PREDICTION is that this is all a part of a well orchestrated plan to move our country toward socialism and to make the federal government (and certain individuals) all powerful! Forget about the paychecks that Obama is promising everyone, and look at what this is REALLY costing our nation!
